Dramatic photos captured a Canadian firefighter leaping to safety to avoid falling timbers during a residential fire Tuesday.
The fire broke out at a home in Ajax, Ontario, the Toronto Sun reports. The house had been under construction for two years, and crews immediately began dousing a nearby residence to keep flames from spreading.
“They were pretty quick to respond," neighbor Chris Gezwski told the Sun. "I would say five more minutes and our house would be on fire.”
During the fire, timbers outside the house came crashing down and forced a firefighter to jump out of the way to avoid them. Photos captured the escape by the firefighter, who had been on his knees, hosing down the flames.
"(The fire) was pretty quick," Gezwski said. "Didn’t take long to burn the whole house down.”
It was unclear if anyone was injured in the fire.
